When Catastrophe Hits...

I was in the mood to draw some spunky, spiffy heart shaped goggles but as soon as I started drawing (with plenty of VNV Nation's music playing), the drawing started to go in sort of a cyberpunk-ish doomsday feel.

Once the feel started to change, a backstory of sorts begins to form...

I can see this girl being someone who was very carefree, naive and blissfully, willfully ignorant. Then this scene happened. As a result, she became a rogue soldier of fortune. It's a real "turning point" sort of scene.

I was amazed at how easy this piece came to me. It was if everything fell into place with no hesitations and every instinct was trustworthy. It also gave me a good opportunity to play around with my new brushpen.
